v0 has moved personal accounts into team workspaces. According to v0’s changelog, personal accounts are now team workspaces, which gives everyone access to v0’s collaboration features.
If your account was migrated, v0 says your chats, projects, and settings moved automatically. “Everything is right where you left it.” You can now invite others when you are ready.
The setting that matters
The same changelog, in its September entry, says new chats created in a team workspace are now visible to the team by default. Team owners choose the default in Settings, then Workspace, then Default Chat Visibility. There are three options:
- Private: only people with access to the chat can see it.
- Team can view: team members can see the chat, but editing stays limited to people with edit access.
- Team can edit: team members can see and edit it.
The setting applies only to new chats. Existing chats keep their current visibility. The person who created a chat can still change that one chat from the Invite dialog.
Why it matters
With no other workspace members, team visibility does not add a teammate’s access. Existing chat invitations or public-sharing settings still need separate review. Inviting a freelancer or client gives them access to chats shared with the team. Before inviting someone, review existing chats with team visibility as well as the default for new chats. Team-visible chats may contain pasted API keys, customer data, or private business ideas, because people paste all of that into prompts.
Check your migrated workspace’s current chat-visibility default and billing settings before inviting anyone.
What to do next
- Open Settings, then Workspace, then Default Chat Visibility, and read the current value.
- If you plan to invite anyone, set it to Private first.
- Review older chats containing sensitive work in each chat’s Invite dialog. Confirm who has access before inviting new team members. A changed default does not restrict existing chats.
- Search recent chats for anything secret you pasted in, and rotate it (replace it with a new one) if someone else could have seen it.
