Cloudflare has open-sourced Void, a set of three tools that take a Vite app from your laptop to Cloudflare’s hosting. Vite is a popular build tool for web front ends. Cloudflare’s announcement says Void came from VoidZero, the company behind Vite, which is now part of Cloudflare.
One command builds the app and creates its resources
The Void SDK turns a Vite app into a full-stack app running on Cloudflare Workers, Cloudflare’s service for running server code. Files in your project become API routes, and the database and interface share the same data types. The SDK also works out which resources the app needs, such as a database, a queue, or AI access, and sets them up.
The Void CLI is the command-line tool. Install everything with npm install void, then run void deploy. It builds the app, applies database changes, creates the resources, and publishes it. The first deploy asks you to sign in to your Cloudflare account.
A shared home for internal apps
The third piece, Void Platform, is for teams. Cloudflare says companies want employees to build internal apps with AI tools but do not want to give each of them access to the company’s cloud account. With the Platform, a team hosts those apps in one shared place. Admins manage users and project access, set resource limits, and inspect deployments, logs, and rollbacks.
Cloudflare’s post gives no pricing. All three pieces ship as one open-source package, and teams can use the Platform code as is or fork it into their own version.
